Well, it's been a week since I started my detox diet. No alcohol, no caffeine, fresh fruit and veg every day.
Practical update: Still tired. I look a little less soft around the midriff. Maybe. A little tiny ickle bit. Which is, I suppose, a start. I was not expecting this weight to fall off over night. But fall off it shall!
I will admit to missing the booze. I think this is a cause for concern. When you're doing something so much that no doing it causes you to miss it then you really need to make sure the thing you're missing is good for you. Coz you're addicted to it. Which is fine if you're addicted to healthy walks and exercise. Not so much for booze and caffeine. Oh well, these lessons are here to teach us.
Other stuff for the weekend. Drove out to tynemouth yesterday, just for the giggles. Went to the Market and found a cool new prop for my FnH group. It's a little godzilla puppet. I say little, it's about one and a half feet tall. Still, little compared to real godzilla. So I've decapitated it and am making it have a proper neck and I think it will do nicely for a monster. Always good to scare the players with little monsters.
After that I went to the cinema. Saw that Edge of Tomorrow film. It's gotten rave reviews and I was a little surprised because I didn't think it was massively special. It's not bad. It's quite good. When you see the reviews though, you'd think it was some amazing new way in which the medium had been stretched. It's a fun pop-corn movie with time travel elements. Face it, Star Trek was doing the whole "looping the same day" thing back when Brett Spiner looked young.
Today I have been doing some light exercise, combined with moderate cleaning and northwesterly trips to the shops, leading to movie watching later. See, it's funny because it's like a weather report. No, I didn't laugh either.
Only downside of the travelling etc is that I missed the arrival of the new coat yesterday. I got a message at 1:30 saying it'll be delivered by 2. Thanks very much. Not like I was miles away or anything. By the time I got home they'd been and gone. Time on the card? 1:30pm. So I got the text at the same time they were at my door? Prats.
Nevermind, I've re-scheduled the package to go to my work address so that should make delivery easier. Ah, the perks of being a me.
Anyhow, gonna go kiddies. Just trying to keep up with the writing more as part of the whole "self improvement" thing.
Have a great day, ramble ramble ramble!
