I used to be good about updating my blog... you know, years ago. Oops.
So Abigail has taken up running. She did Girls on the Run this spring, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She successfully completed the 5K in May, in addition to 3 kids' one mile runs. She has 4 participation medals, and she is thrilled. She has another mile run tomorrow morning (we're hoping the rain holds off), and yet another one two weeks from today. Later this month she starts her first organized team sport- soccer. It's just an introductory league- 4 on 4, no goalie, even starting and playing time. If she enjoys it, we'll look into competitive leagues next time. Abigail has one week of school left before summer vacation. She started bringing home a variety of sub-par grades on her papers the last few weeks, so I was worried her report card would reflect that... but she seems to have pulled out of whatever funk she was in. She aced her last 2 spelling tests and last 3 math tests. The letter grades aren't super important- I just need to know she's doing her best.
My beautiful girl after running her first 5K.

Austin's summer vacation started yesterday! He has 10 days off before Extended School Year services (read: summer school). He'll go three half-days a week over the summer, with another 2 week break before the regular school year picks back up in September. Extended School Year is vital. It helps him and other students like him stay in their routine. It also gives us parents a little break. :) I got his progress report yesterday, and he has improved on every one of his IEP goals. He's doing really well with toilet training at home and at school (YAY).
My handsome guy waiting for his bus the other morning.

In other news, our Golden Retriever, Nala, had to be put down on Memorial Day. We miss her.

Life with dogs is wonderful... until you have to say goodbye. <3
The summer will be eventful, especially July. Soccer games and Abby's 9th birthday, with a chance of VBS thrown in the mix. Plus our 10th wedding anniversary (we're taking a short trip in August to celebrate that!), a 3 day music festival my sister and I will attend, and the annual trip to Higgins Lake with Austin's schoolmates and families! So maybe I'll be back sometime in the next few months, but no guarantees haha.
