My bike (peddle, not motor) had an overhaul this summer including (amongst many other things) a new chain. I was out biking this morning, quite a common thing for me to do, and I could hear something go CLUNCK.....CLUNCK.....CLUNCK.... Well, what can I do by the side of the road with barely any tools? So I kept on going until I got home. Just over 19 miles. We had to dash out to take the girls swimming and then to the library so when we got home there were two 'missed delivery' noted through the door. One (a heated clothes aired) was in my back garden while the other had been taken back to the post office. I went to pick it up and found my order from a bike specialist website with various essentials that I needed. Since I had to put these on my bike (if you're interested, tyre liners to protect the inner tube from puncture, a small spanner (wrench) to fit in my seat bag and a new pump) I decided to examen the origin of the CLUNCK. I was about to give up when I noticed one of the link on my chain had the pin missing that holds it to the next link, if it wasn't for the gunk and oil gooing it together I could have been stranded this morning! I've phoned the bike shop that put the chain on and they're going to pop and new link on it next week. The best part? How oily and greasy my hands got. I just love pottering with my bike and getting all dirty :D
