Not a long entry, as it's 4:30am and I need some sleep, but I went and saw The Vamps perform in the city before work yesterday. They are a band who I've charted a few times over the past 6 months or so, so it was pretty cool to find out they were doing a free gig in the city for Channel V. They actually did three different performances all over the city yesterday, starting from 6am in Sunnybank, then 4:30pm in the city and then a ticketed gig at the Eaton Hills hotel at 8pm. Since I had work at 5pm, it worked out perfectly timing-wise, and I thought it'd be awesome to see them.

And it was. There was only a small crowd gathered around the area where Channel V were set up. The boys arrived and the screams happened. I counted probably about 3 other guys there. Girl really outnumbered us haha. I kind of stood behind the crowd and I took a few pics on my phone but of course everyone had their phones out and were snapping pics and videos so I decided to just put my phone away and enjoy the moment - them actually performing right then and there in front of me.

They started with "Somebody To You" (their new single with Demi Lovato, but obvs she wasn't there lol), then did "Last Night" and finished with their big one here "Can We Dance". The lead singer actually wasn't there with them. I guessed he had maybe overdone it with his vocals or something. I'm pretty sure they were staying in the hotel just across the road though, as one of my facebook friends was posting photos with all of the boys. Beats me how he knows em.

But even without the lead singer, I was very impressed with the mini-gig these guys put on. Two of the others sang the lyrics instead, and they can both sing also! One of the guys said that he hadn't sang so much in all his life haha.

An Asian girl tapped me and asked, "Who are they?" LOL "The Vamps", I replied. "With a 'V'?"

Hilarious. I guess they aren't that famous yet, but the way they are going after these first three singles, I reckon they probably will be soon.

So they were wrapping up around 4:45pm, and I managed to walk to work and get there right on time. Was pretty happy with how that worked out.

Then I filled my first box at work, which happened to be a box of pickles. One of the lids wasn't attached properly and next thing I knew, I felt the juice of that one jar seep through the cardboard and all over my work pants. Right at the start of an 8-hour shift. Juuuuuuuuust fanTAStic...

Life, huh? :D
