I saw this on another person’s blog and decided to use it. Maybe it will help me write more! I am already 5 days behind so I have a lot to catch up on. So here we go:
Day 1 - My blog’s name. Well ........ all came about in college. I honestly don’t know how I came up with it but there it is. Not really an exciting story.
Day 2 - 20 Facts about me
-
I am a true redhead. I am pasty white and will burn like a lobster in the sun and then turn pasty white again!
-
I am married to a wonderful man for almost 8 years now. We’ve been together for almost 12.
-
I have a son who is 7 and my daughter is forever 13 months old.
-
My daughter was diagnosed with cancer when she was just 5 months old. We are coming up on the 1 year anniversary of her passing.
-
Because of my daughter’s diagnosis I have become an advocate for childhood cancer research. I currently volunteer for the non-profit organization CureSearch.
-
I have been to the Philippines.
-
I can drive a stick shift.
-
I love to laugh.
-
Reading is a passion of mine. Everything from best sellers to harlequin romance novels. I usually finish a book a day.
-
I am currently reading the Harry Potter series to my son at bedtime every night. We’re about to start book #4.
-
I had back surgery when I was 17 years old.
-
My back surgery caused me to miss my senior prom and graduation.
-
I have a fear of being paralyzed.
-
I believe in mediums and connecting with the other side.
-
I don’t follow any particular sports team. Although if I have to pick one it would be the Kentucky Wildcats.
-
I play Diablo 3.
-
I have only ever owned Nintendo gaming consoles.
-
I have three bracelets about childhood cancer that I haven’t taken off since the day I got them. (Exception was my best friend’s wedding!)
-
I also have a necklace with my daughter’s hand print on it that I haven’t taken off since I got it.
-
Thinking about 20 facts about yourself is hard!
Day 3 - One of my favorite quotes is:
Feminism is the radical notion that women are people.
(Here’s my 20th fact! In college I had a notebook filled with quotes. My roommate and I also covered our dorm room door in quotes)
Day 4 - My dream job. That’s a hard one. There’s so many things I’d like to do. If I could become a social worker for advocacy so that I could work with childhood cancer organizations that would be awesome. On the other end of the spectrum I would love to work at Disney World as one of the characters! I just love that place.
Day 5 - My proudest moment has got to be the day I had both of my children. Nothing beats that.
Okay! I am all caught up with the challenge. Looking forward to writing again tomorrow!
