One of the perks of being a forum-goer is I end up repeating responses to certain queries over and over. Each time, like starting a painting anew^, the response becomes more refined.

^Oh, that’s a reference to something Liz shared with me once. She was a budding art student. One session, class was instructed to draw something. Then after x minutes, they were told to put it aside, not look at it, and do it again. And again, and again, not looking at their past works. After an hour or whatever, they then looked at their 6 or so drawings. As you can expect, it was a beautiful progression of improvement.

Obviously an exercise in “just fucking practice it over and over and you’ll improve” rather than trying to get it perfect the first time. But, I always liked the anecdote.

Anyway.

If you were wondering if I reserve my typing style for just the Box of Prose, well, nope.

Oh, and I’ve been using “comrade” as a gender-neutral term, as using “man” in a fitness circle/setting can come off as exclusionary. I mean that in all seriousness. As a dude, it’s our responsibility to “self-police” the little brolings so we can stamp out any toxic masculine behavior, so women can feel safe in the shared space. (“Man in this context comes off differently than if we’re talking about the first man on the moon, WHICH CLEARLY MANS HUMAN, HUMANITY, AND MANKIND.)

Heh, doesn’t Comrades in Iron sound neat-o?

…Self-police. The hockey slut in me. Only like one of you might know what it means to “self-police” in the ice. Eh, I won’t tangent into hockey vernacular.
