About 18 months ago I signed up with the Cinnamon Trust, which is a charity that has volunteer dog walkers and pet fosterers for people who are disabled, sick, old or in hospital and need help looking after their pets. I went through the whole process, got references, they sent me an ID card and everything and then I heard nothing else from them.
Today I get an email out of the blue asking if I'm available to help someone! Just at the time when I'm starting to get busy with my full time job and getting more customers for my business. I'm sure I'll have more availability once I've finished my current job, but I feel I should accept it seeing as though I volunteered ages ago and haven't actually done anything yet! Sheesh I'm so busy these days with working 40 hours a week, new customers for my business and roller derby twice a week :-/
They say I need to take my ID card with me but I have no idea where this is anymore seeing as I got it about 18 months ago. I've also lost my degree certificate and my GCSE and A-Level certificates. I don't need them right now but it would be nice to know where they are; I think I need to have a sort out at home!
Jay bought Eric Clapton's autobiography from Amazon; £2.20 second hand, it's in really good nick so that's a good price for a hard back. But when he opened it, he found it was signed by the man himself. He did some research and it's worth over £100! Nice find there.
Download Festival tickets arrived at work today! This little bundle of 26 tickets is worth £5,200, and it just came in the normal post! My sister was going to come but she can't get the time off work, so I was going to give her ticket to my nephew as a birthday present (He's 19 on the 12th) but, um, circumstances meant he can no longer come either. So I asked Jay to see if he could sell it to any of his friends. Bearing in mind each ticket is worth £200...he sold it for a crate of lager sigh Yeah sure I got them for free, but it's one of the very few benefits we get at work (I mean, the ONLY benefit, you all know how much my work sucks) so I was hoping to at least have my petrol money, car park fee (£25!) and food money for it. Oh well, I've asked if he can give me £20 to go towards petrol and car parking as I'll be giving him a lift; at least I'm getting in for free and getting some beer out of it, I can't really complain too much! ;o)
