Last Thursday Jassy showed up with her big-ass U-Haul truck about 2pm. Only a couple of hours past when she wanted to be here. We spent the afternoon and evening unloading. It was packed full. A fourteen footer. The last item was a loveseat with a hide-a-bed in it. The stairway going up to their apartment was a tight one. Half a flight of stairs then a 180 degree turn and then the last half a flight. All enclosed. E-gads. So, the worst case scenario always has to happen. We got the thing halfway up. And then stuck fast. And then the bed started falling out. We got the bed folded back in then I remembered that we should have tied the thing in. Jassy went up and found a belt and then we were in business. All moved in.
Jassy and I went to take the truck back. And then grocery shopping with my EBT card. About a hundred dollars worth. We stopped at the liquor store. A six of Bud for Clayton and I and Angry Orchard for Jassy.
A little before midnight I was walking back to the van with a pleasant two beer buzz.
They had to go back up north for the weekend.
I spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the van reading.
They showed up about 5:30pm yesterday evening. Jassy said it was time to move the van. We jumped the battery and got it rolling.
One block south, a few blocks east. This is the southwest corner of the intersection that contains the McD's on the northeast corner where my old hidey-hole behind that McD's was. That's the way to move- jump in the driver's seat and go.
Jassy and I went and bought another $85 worth of groceries.
I'm borrowing Jassy's battery charger. After I figured it out, the last time I checked the battery was at 84%. Hopefully that little green light will eventually come on.
Last night was a warm one in the van. Add the two cups of coffee right before bed and it didn't help for a good nights sleep.
Today I got the non-fiction back on the good bookshelf. We also went and got wet at the pool.
I have to unload the van. Jassy is still working to get the second bedroom cleared out. It may take a while.
And the free wifi here at their apartment complex sucks. I may have to go over to McD's later on tonight.
