Aw man, I've had the day from hell at work. But nothing new there. The good news is I'm going to meet a potential new customer to dog sit for. They need someone to house sit when they go on occasional weekends away (So I can do it around my current job for now.) It will be for a blind, epileptic German shepherd and a daschund. I hope they like me :o)

More good news is we got free tickets for Download Festival again this year, as my company is doing the stage lighting again :o) It's in two weeks time so we've got to get all the camping stuff sorted and go grocery shopping.

Mam and Dad came to visit at the weekend. We got up to all sorts of fun stuff including going to the pub, going for walks, visiting the Black Country Museum, going to see an Eagles cover band and they came to see me at roller derby practice! Always nice to see them. On Tuesday it was their 42nd wedding anniversary; congratulations to them! Not many people stay married for that long anymore. They also brought Meg with them, their border collie who is going to be 16 in August! She's losing her sight and her marbles, poor thing.

Dad's hospital appointment went well. The consultant is happy with the progress and he doesn't need any more treatment for now, which is good news. He has to go for another check up in six months.

On Sunday at roller derby, I had my first proper go at a little blocking/jamming scrim and I didn't do too badly. Last night we did 'shopping trolleys' where you get in groups of four and take turns pushing or pulling the other three people for a lap. They made it into a race and my team won! Even though I've only been going for four weeks :o) I was really pleased. I'm also getting a bit better at crossovers (crossing your feet over to keep up speed around corners). I'm going to have a go at my Safe To Skate test on 29th June. Even if I don't pass, it'll give me an idea of what I'm aiming for. Now I just need to learn how to skate backwards, which I can't do to save my life.
