Blizzard in General

Anyone who has lived anywhere in the north knows what a Blizzard is – and no it doesn’t come from Dairy Queen.
Starting tomorrow at 4am the snow will start, then the wind will start. By Noon the snow will be falling at 2” an hour and the wind will be hanging at 30 mph and reliably gusting to 50 mph or higher.
I went into google images and searched for “Blizzard.”
It was comical. Not one image did the word justice. Mountains of drifting snow, occasionally not being able to see your hand in front of your face. Bone chilling temperatures and a wind that would love to snatch your life right out of you.
That is a blizzard.
I’m all prepped. Flashlights that needed them have new batteries. The water containers are all full. I laid down calcium chloride on the driveway. Knuckleheads who live here should at least know the basics of storm prep. Most don’t. Too many transplants.
First thing tomorrow is make chili. Get it going good and toasty on the slow cooker. Put hot cocoa (reinforced with espresso powder) in the thermos.
As with most storms, the meteorology-guessers have probably overplayed this situation.
Either way I am a ready.
My only real tasks remain some basic housework, choosing the right time to clear the driveway (becoming an art), and deciding on the proper series of movies to watch while the power holds and the wind howls.
