IT'S BEEN AWHILE in Living off the Grid

It has been a whirled wind this last month. My husband and I both got different jobs this week. I will be working as a wellness nurse for Alzheimer's residents in a memory care unit. Working with the elderly is my true love. Every job that I have high ad has been working in this field of helping people have better lives.

The company that I will work for had me go through a lot of jumping through hoops to get this job, I waited and waited until the job became available. Then I had to take an Integrity test. I didn't even know what a Integrity test was so I had to google it! The test was quite silly asking if I hit people, do I smoke pot, do I steal, would I fight at work, do I have a drinking problem.

Then I had to round up all my old supervisors. I'm very good about keeping records and phone numbers. So I was able to contact all of my upper level management nurses for job references.

So, yesterday I went to the community (which by the way was an 1 1/2 hour drive away from my home. Once I got there I chatted with the Director of Nursing. I very nice lady , she showed me around the Alzheimers community. I was not impressed! I have a thing about keeping finger nails looking good. I lot of the residences had very poor grooming, the perfume was so pignut that I started to cough.

I could defiantly see that the employees where not motivated and didn't follow directions. I was there when the administrator asked if everybody had their walkie talkies on. almost all of them had them off. I also I noticed that when somebody called for help no body cared to answer back.

Here is the kicker-the license practical nurse steeled a very expensive tilt chair from the Goodwill which had been sitting outside for two days That is considered theft!! I tried to tell the wellness nurse that what she was doing was theft.

The director of nursing said she had nothing to do with that chair. So basically she turned a blind eye to the situation.

Please God I don't want to work with thieves
