We are back in In the Kingdom of Suzu

We left yesterday and drove half way, which was 4 hours and then drove another 4 hours to get home. It worked out very nice and depending on future trips, just might do it, at least one way.

We stayed at a holiday inn express in a town that has a nice riverfront that we always thought would be nice to check out. We found a nice restaurant and will come back to eat there again. It was exactly what we needed to refresh and then I found that driving back today, I did not feel as tired as when we leave at 5 in the morning and do an 8 hour drive. Alums we had been doing a lot of driving the past week, at least 2 hours while my FIL was in hospice, so an 8 hour drive was not appealing. We will be going back in 2 weeks for the memorial, so I think we will split the trip up going down and then just do the 8 on the way back---time constraints.

House looked good when we came home---one thing I have noticed, that always when we come home from a trip---even if it is just a couple of days----I always like the way the house looks when we come back. I am still pleased with the decorating style after all these years---I think that is pretty cool.

Otis and Myles were happy to see us as well. My in-laws have cats and they are nice, but it was nice to come back and see our boys. It will also be nice to sleep in our own bed tonight.
