What is a news story (other than Covid) that surprised you this year?

That people CAN work from home, you don’t need to be at work every day and that work-life balance can be achieved way better when it’s controlled by you and not your company.
And above all, productivity INCREASED for numerous industries, highest was IT where companies have made a fuckton of money all while saving massive costs of running offices and
services.

The pandemic was like a deep breath before the plunge and now that its all said and done, companies are breathing easy knowing just how much they can save in running and how much more advantageous work from home is.

From getting out of bed to out the door – 30 – 45 minutes
Commute – 1 hour each way.
Come back home dead tired only to be consumed my domestic tasks and household chores.

Corona hits and boom, you don’t have to do any of that anymore and you’re happy working from home.

People were happier, more productive, company makes more money, everyone’s happy.
Some companies went all fuck it and decided to close their premises for good while others are still trying to keep the slave dragging going.

Coz their primitive, controlling minds only see employees as controllable and functional when they are at office, not at home.

This boomer shit, industrial factory worker mentality needs to fuck right off. We’ve had a year long successful experiment that shit can work out

So many surveys, researches and reviews have come out saying just how much work from home has benefited the employers and opens up a whole new market segment where large businesses can operate without ever having to need a constantly running office with needless people.

And to no one’s surprise, the one sector that had the worst survey results and absolutely hated the work from home culture, BANKING. Fucking piece of shit banking industry. Rot in hell.
