I thought there was another set of prompts floating around and i’m glad I saw them, too bad I potatoed and didnt see it yesterday I liked that prompt better, but THIS ONE IS SO FUNNY AND KIND OF RELEVANT TO WHATS BEEN GOING ON IN THE WORLD RE: PANDEMIC

What has been your biggest life adventure so far?

  1. I was a 29 year old derpy college student, in education. (hah) I decided to end my student teaching in MEXICO CITY (my student teaching here was awful, i hated my cooperating teacher, he was so inflexible, he didnt help at all, and said he basically did it for the extra money, and didnt do anything for me, but thats not part of the story)

I student taught at a private school in Mexico City to kids across latin america who’s parents were upper middle class (one kids father was the VP of a car company in latin america, I think it was GM) but these kids were bright, and really nice. I traveled to Acapulco, Chichen Itza (sp) and a couple other places.. It was fun. I still have pictures and a few trinkets from the trip..

THEN WITH ABOUT ONE WEEK LEFT:
We were scheduled to go to a hot spring 3-4 hours outside Mexico city. (We still went which will be important in a second) Where the day before we left.. This happened:

The entire country shut down, the schools shut down, everything shut down and our group was in the epicenter of it. Heck our group had articles written about it on CNN and Fox

https://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/05/01/swine.flu.schools/index.html

We had a separate graduation out of concerns of spread (Which back then I thought was funny, now I understand why) but TBH it was really cool and I wouldn’t of went to the normal graduation honestly, the president shook each of our hands, we got showered with praise and got a motivational book out of it.

But looking back I understand fully why we were separated (even though the big outbreak was a bit farther away), and none of us caught the flu and I got a shot like a month or something after.

So that is my big adventure. I was at the epicenter of a global pandemic.

Edit: Apparently Today is my 8th anniversary of using prosebutt. Wow what a change.
