My trip was decent. Everyone was masked so I am gonna be safe. Couple things did happen though that were weird.

First, I took a bath on thursday night, and the hotel has a metal soap dish holder or something, and as I was sitting up it scraped me on the head! It bled for like 30 minutes, not bad bleeding, I just took a towel and applied pressure and watched lower decks, and I complained about this and a few other smaller issues on twitter, and today they actually called me to check up on my head which was really nice.

Then the strangest thing happened on friday when the vendors opened. (Which BTW expectations were low but they didnt even hit that) I went to buy a game called “Crescent city Cargo” which is a part of a series (That’ll make sense in a second) I just wanted this one cause I liked the theme a bit more (moving goods around and shipping them out) so i hand the lady my card. Swipe. Declined. Try again. Declined. So head back up i know the issue. Get a call saying suspicious activity as i was heading up, thought i figured it out. went back, declined. I walk back up to the room, talk 30 minutes on the phone, walk down again and try, still nothing. Call the banks direct line, talk for another 10 minutes IN PUBLIC, and they needed my SSN to verify the account, which saying that out loud.. nope, so i ducked behind the booth, and whispered it to the person.. and I had to get an authorization code via a text. IT WENT THROUGH YAY.. and as i finished my transaction, the person said, why dont get the other game in the series (Called Crescent City cargo)? I’m saying I really didnt want it due to cost and didnt look as appealing to me.. she said take it for your persistence. (This did take an hour and a lot of running around to do) I.. Was floored. That was a 70 dollar game they gave me. For free. For issues that I had not on their end. So for 75 bucks I got 140 bucks in games. That was the highlight of my con… BUT it did come at a price, I could no longer swipe my card (the bank thought it was spoofed or something, I could chip read but not swipe) Still though that was awesome and i’ll remember that for a long time.

Now for whats going on with facebutt and stuff. While some people have been cheering the down time. I am freaking out a bit why? I know social media in the wrong hands is evil and dumb, I usually just post board games, sports stuff, snark and cats. That being said.. I actually met someone via facebook dating, and What a surprise we have been gelling pretty well, but I hadn’t given her my phone number yet (even talking when i was in Ohio) but guess how we have been talking? VIA FACEBOOK MESSENGER. And while hopefully things will work out This is giving me a bit of anxiety. I also have met some cool people that I can only really talk to on facebooks so I miss a bunch of my goober friends on there.. So i’m a bit frustrated about that.

I’d post a picture of my small Haul but I cant cause all my pictures are on FB and the one I wanted to show I forgot to post to tumblr (which is my backup instagram account)
So my games I Got are:

Khora: Rise of an empire, Its a greek city state building game with dice.
Maglev Metro: Pick up and deliver game where the passengers you deliver augment your powers.
Fantasy realms: Trying to get the best 7 card hand to combo with each other
Furnace: Auction and engine building game.
One deck dungeon Abyssal Depths: An expansion to ODD that adds a couple new characters and a new challenge.
Crescent city cargo: Worker placement logistics game where your workers have to take breaks. (that last part is what intrigued me)
Captains of the gulf: A game where you are managing a shrimp boat, delivering the cargo back to New Orleans.

So.. yeah. Facebook down..woooo. yay.. stopping me from getting dates. So joyful.

Toodles.

Me.
