Last night i was browsing amazon for sweaters and cardis. The office is quite cool. Plus the houses are some 80 plus years old. So the insulation and all isnt fabulous. But the ac kicks ass haha. Its cold in there and the ac vent is right next to the desk. ANYWHOOZLE its cold lol. And i dont have that much faith for winter with those old buildings. And we have three of them now ( closed on the third on friday) The third the owner and I will be convering into offices for she wants massage therapy, aromatherapy and more . Anyway! So im on amazon looking for sweaters and cardis and long sleeved shirts. But i was mad, i didnt want to spend 30 bucks on a sweater.
So i get on Ravelry and im looking at free patterns for cardis, shawls, ponchos and the like. I find a few i like. And started making a cowl neck shawl for work.

Then today one of my fav designers comes out with a new test. IE you get hte pattern for free and make the design for her, share it on ravelry ect. And of course i like it. Hell yeah ill make it. Im looking up the yarn she used 120 bucks plus. Yeah no. I cant afford THAT lol. So i start looking for alternatives. Find some on one of my fav sites for around 35 ( shipped) ok not too bad, BUT i havent felt it so i dont know if its going to be soft or scratchy and i have terribly sensitive skin ( yeah Autoimmune disorders!) So i go to the craft store and find a nice alternative.. I spent 30 bucks. For 7 balls of yarn for the sweater ( one extra!) and then another ball that will make some adorable headbands or a scarf ( its light cotton ) lol..

So all in all, I still spent 30 on a sweater. Only now i have a month to make it! And i didnt buy toggles to close it like the pattern calls for. Ill have to find something, or make belt loops or get big ass wood buttons :D

I may still buy a pack of the yarn from my own fav site. But its a flat 15 for shipping. haha. So no matter what ill be spending 26 bucks for that yarn. I can however make the sweater a bit smaller. It calls for 8-10 inches of ease ( which means its 8-10 inches too big or overlap, or extra so it fits a verity of sizes) To make it compact to my body, i could make a small. Im normally a xl lol. Im making a large which has a bust size of 52 inches! So i can easily go down and use less yardage too.

In any event. Crafters gunna know this feeling.
I wont spend 30 bucks on a sweater.
I WILL buy 30 in yarn just to make a sweater :P
