There were hero’s everywhere that day. One traffic chopper remained in the air with a police copter. The bridges and tunnels were closed, but hundreds of boats crowded the waters of New York harbor bringing over 500,000 people to safety in nine hours.

I once read a book ( non-fiction of course) about a woman living close to ground zero in a tall apartment block with a blind cat and how she managed to get to safety cross a bridge with thousands of other people nd carrying her blind cat. Its one of those stories one never forgets....what a day! hugs p

It’s so heartwarming how everyone pulls together and does what needs to be done to help their fellow man in a catastrophe like that. You’re right - there were heroes everywhere that day!
