So, there was a women at the gym today, clad in a sports bra. Cool, whatever. And proudly displaying plunging cleavage. Easily DD’s. (The mode* of cup size amongst my female partners has been DD, so I have an eye for these things.) I hate to admit I was distracted, but well, here we are. I have no idea if heterosexual women would have been distracted as well. I simply did what I always do: just focus on my workout and move on.

Thing is, I’m generally not distracted by women clad in a sports bra. Abz or not, I’ve seen enough women at the gym that I’m generally able to tune them out. Just ordinary humans, getting sweaty in the gym. I don’t have to actively think “be classy, avert your eyes, don’t look at her cleavage”. Because sports bras are prevalent enough that they function as outerwear.

This is so tricky to phrase, because “cover up” is TERRIBLE PHRASING. I’m a dude, so I can’t tell women what to wear. Ya know? Moreover, her body, her choice. She KNOWS what is visible. As well, there are some guys who wear shirts that make me think “what the hell are you wearing?” I’m not attracted to guys, so those are more ‘wtf’ moments, rather than a distraction.

Maybe it comes down to the function of sports bras. They’re to contain your breasts, right? Contain your breasts during vigorous exercise? I feel like if a sports bra shows that much cleavage, it probably won’t provide as much control as desired.

Well, whatever. Maybe if the gym was just completely nude, I wouldn’t even be writing this. After all, I’ve been to a nude beach. Twice. Nudity eliminates any questions of what to wear.

If nothing else, this means nobody was looking at me. Well, except for a compliment I got today. Guy complimented my shoulder tattoo. Said he thought, “That man is living his life right.” Concurrent with a previous entry, I’d say I enjoyed the compliment quite well, and went right on with my workout. Also, marks the first in-person human to correctly identify what the tattoo is from. He said he’d like to get something like that, but also with the mandalorian symbol behind it. Cool beans, dude.

May all your jiggly parts have support and control when you desire.

*Remember mean, median, and mode? All meaning “average”? Mode is whatever statistic appears the most.
