Spring is almost over and round the country the Bluebells are carpeting the woodland glades, over head the last leafs are opening to fill the gaps in summers canopy. Sweetheart has kept an eye on reports of the progress of springs last show of colour, now adult and child walk or run through the trees, stopping here and there to see the earth turned blue; a life ago children left the woods arms full of bluebells to fill jam-jars for Mum’s and Grandma’s.

It’s different now, the bluebells are left to grow old and flowers drupe there heads as summer eases spring away. The Bluebell was never meant to be cut or grabbed, left in jars their steams deep in water makes no difference, over night the flowers die; a one day wonder.

Though last week the open gardens were posting the percentage of bluebells in bloom, 50 to 60% on Monday and by Thursday 70 to 80%. We went on Saturday between the rain that passed by quite regular; we seldom get rain so right going with a light rain falling. We got to Tehidy Woodland Park in dry conditions, and the sun popping in and out of the clouds; and after our meander among the trees we went home with dry boots!

I haven’t been to Tehidy for quite a while, and certainly not during our last winter, in the best of winters it can be rather sticky under foot; I should have gone just to see haw awful it was. I wonder if the park was closed through parts of last winter, the winds were so strong it must have been a danger to people walk there.

Our Sunday agility class panned out as I thought, Lola’s class is early now starting at eleven and had no rain, I turned up at twelve twenty for Ziggy’s class at half-past; Ziggy was less fortunate as it rained hard for five minutes – the small class taking shelter in Jo’s small shed! They went out and carried on with the class, there was more rain but less veracious and they toughed it out!

I don’t know if I should say this [ no this isn’t about Nigel Façade ] no its that other bore the weather, our forecast for the coming days is both sunny and dry; and about time as it is almost mid-May. According to the forecasts we could have better weather than Portsmouth, this only happens normally when I’m away in Portsmouth; so it could be nice to be here when the weather kicks off at home!
