Friday night I grilled chicken and veggies. (Protip: skewer and grill cherry tomatoes. You’ll thank me later.)
Saturday night I made the soft taco bake from a kit. Sooo good.
Tonight I was lazy. Wanted Olive Garden yet they were closed. 😕 Not sure why though there was a sign on the entrance. I didn’t get out to read it as it’s been raining all day. Nope, ended up down the street at Shogun. Dinner and a show. I’m pretty certain that our chef was Latino which I find incredibly funny. Dude has personality and had the entire table cracking up.
Now I’m chillin’ with a full belly and a box of leftovers in the fridge.
Something dawned on me, though, as I was munching on my fried rice. A lot of places close early due to staffing shortages or are closing completely for days at a time. The places thriving with no help wanted signs? Ethnic joints. Asian, Mexican, Greek. They’re working at 100% capacity on staff.
What does that say about us?
Then again a lot of those places are family owned and not a corporate entity. I dunno, just a thought.
