Stuck, radiation and cake in A Day in the Life of Me

So my friend with the sick boy was stuck up here over the past weekend with her son, cause he had swelling on the brain after his last treatment last friday. I wasn’t allowed in the hospital, as they are still keeping a tight lid on it after covid. They can’t take any risks. I get it.
So I went down saturday, and spent all afternoon with her just sitting out on the benches talking, and he eventually called saying he wanted to come out to, and so we moved closer to the hospital doors, and he came out for a couple hrs, until the heat got to him, and he started feeling tired.
Sunday was not a good day for me, was feeling ill with headaches, and D’s game got called off cause one of the memebers ended up with heatstroke.
Monday was his Bday, so I made him (my first ever) Carrot cake, and I came out really good.
Tue my firend and her son finally got released from the hospital, but had to move to a hotel cause he still was on course to do his radiation, after the meds cleared up his swelling. So I packed them up the leftovers from supper, and a couple slices of D’s cake and took it down to them for their supper, and ended up staying until around 930.
He’s being brave about it all, but I know he’s wondering why he’s even bothering. If the radiation doesn’t work, he won’t have much longer, and now they have found spots on his lungs.
If the raditation DOES work, he won’t have a LONG life, but he will be with us a little while longer.
I know she’s stressed. She’s got staffing issues back at work, her Dad isn’t doing well, and just all so much for one person. Her son’s father is out west and not coming home, its almost like he thinks if he denys this is happening, it won’t.
Wish it worked that way bucko, but it doesn’t.
Haven’t really done much else. N was by on tuesday as well, filling me in on the drama with the MiL, she’s over that. They can’t get the house to sell, so they can’t get the mortgage on the one they we’re set to buy, and they already have the apartment subleted…
Mom had her second jab finally after me getting after her about it. She’s pretty much had a sore arm and thats it thankfully, so she’s good! She’s two days out now, so she’s back to work today.
Thats pretty much it. Kittens are being cute and bad as always. They are a year now. still seeing growth development with both of them.
