A bit of busyness. in A small but passable life.

I have no idea when I posted my last entry. Prosebox says six days ago. Not much help when I can rarely recall what day of the week it is on any given day.

I finished two books: "Call Me Burroughs" by Barry Miles and "The Second Machine Age" by Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee.

Now I'm on Book Ten of the Wheel of Time series.

Jassy and Clayton showed up early Tuesday morning. I went with them while Clayton went to another job interview. While he was busy with that I showed Jassy where that garage is I use to get inspection stickers for the van. She's been trying to get a sticker for a month and kept getting the runaround. The last was an import car place telling her she needed an $800 power steering pump. For a $700 car. Yeah right. We drove out there. The guy said about a half hour. Fifteen minutes later we were out of there, with a $12 inspection sticker. Sometimes Dad is the hero.

After Clayton's interview I took them shopping for groceries and then we hung out at Panera until they had to leave. Much hug and then they were gone.

I told Jassy to tell her mother that she should have put more groceries on the list for the $10 in cash she gave me. I could have bought her much more than what she told Jassy to get her.

I needed a haircut so Jassy gave me another $5 in cash. The haircut is only $10 but I usually tip the barber $2. So now I've got $3 cash in my pocket! I feel fucking rich! What could I buy for $3 that I really need? I can't think of anything.

So that is what I did yesterday. I went downtown for my annual haircut. I'm feeling pretty groovy right now. The hairline is almost to the apex of the noggin. But I've got this funky fringe dead center that keeps hanging on, hanging down. Oh well, it'll be much easier to shampoo over the sink now.

I found "Odd Thomas" on Netflix. Kind of cheesy in spots, but a fairly decent movie. And the gal, Addison Timlin, who played Stormy is perfect. And pretty hot. The ending was SO sad.

I've spent the last two days over at the student union. Yesterday because it was really hot and today because it was really cloudy and rainy (too dim for reading in the van). It is nice over there. I've got a free copy of the local paper and the NYT to read. I can have a mug or two of My Monster Mocha. I can heat up some dinner in the microwave. And the temperature is usually perfect. I may be over there again tomorrow.

It has been thirty days since the visit from the police. They haven't been back. The day before Easter when my brother jumped the van off I did move the van forward about six or so feet. That gained me another hour or so of shade in the evening. I just can't think of a better place to park. Besides, this is where I live.
