Yes,I thought it was about time I wrote down the happenings of the last 2 weeks. It has been worrying and frustrating.Young Jimmy my grandson, ended u in hosital again on28th November. He was in agony with high tems and vomiting so he and my daughter Janet,(his Mum), went over to the fabulous Starship (childrens hospital) in Auckland for yet more tests and to try to find the source of infection and clear up the remains of the .abscess.He was ut on intravenous anti-biotics and the tests started.I had seen him on the Saturday before he went in when we went to the Cemetery to put poppies on Richies plaque for Anzac Day.He was looking awful, very pale and thin and listless. Then he started feeling nauseous and faint and Janet and Samantha, his sister,(17), took him home. The next day,he was sick again with high tems and then on Monday morning his temperature was sky high and he collapsed in the shower,so that was when Janet was told by the Doctor to take him straight in.
They did many tests including faecal specimens, ultra sound and swabs from abscess then an MRI.Finally on Friday, Janet and Bill were told he had all the pointers for Croehns disease. This is basically when the entire alimentary canal becomes ulcerated and develops fistulas, accompanied by severe pain and high temps start and vomiting follows. There is no cure.It is different from ulcerative colitis in that it caries on for life. There is medication to alleviate the symptoms and diet can help,He is very young to have developed it and they are concerned that because of the pain from ulcers and abscesses is so severe, the child won't eat properly for fear the pain will get worse.Jimmy has already gone from 45kg to 26kg.It can stunt growth and delay puberty. He is 9 years old. They think it is only affecting the lower bowel at the moment, and he has to go back in for coloscopy and endoscopy to check exactly where it is.At present he is home and happy so hopefully he stays that way for a while poor darling. He is not back at school yet tho, still too weak. So,a bit of a worry.
He ,of course, just wants to be normal again. So there is a lot of adjustments to be made in his life and that of the whole family.Once they have done the two more tests they will work out a management plan.Janet stayed with him in the hospital and has been wonderful.I went over on the Thursday and spent nearly 3 hours with them and they came home last Saturday. So, lots of prayers and thoughts for this lovely grandie of mine. And he has always been a lovely boy.I was very worried and upset and am now trying to settle down.It took a long time to diagnose because there are 20 points that have to be proven. He has the 20. It really isn't wintery here yet.Having said that,it will probably turn REALLY cold tomorrow!!Lovely warm days and in the teens at night! And we are in May!!!I am perfectly happy for it to remain like this as I am not a fan of winter at all!The cold just aims straight for my old bones and stays there.Ugh!!!!It has been raining a lot though and has just started again this afternoon.Just when Taitai and I were contemplating our afternoon stroll.which is a bit of a case of dodging trucks etc down below and finding a non muddy patch !!Of course Taitai always aims for the mud to do his business and I daren't let him off the lead in case a truck looms!
The piece of news that really got to me was the abduction of 300 odd girls in Nigeria by procul harem or whatever it is called.I am totally stunned and appalled that in this day and age this can happen.I also heard that the USA is formulating a plan to try to return them.It seems there is only a very thin veneer of civilisatin still in some undeveloped countries altho they have access to technology and filmed themselves bragging about it.AND put it on youtube.Somehow I think, and Polz doesn't agree with me on this, that only execution can be carried out on these ghastly people.I doubt they will return the girls and anyway they have probably been raped and terrorised already. This is just unspeakable in every way and I am much saddened by it all.
Polz visited for an hour or so this morning and it was just lovely to have her here.Well, I must finish this and try to take the dog for a walk!I still do my big walks in the morning so its really just to keep him comfy!
I am fine and doing all the usual stuff!
I do hope you are all well and happy and remeber,do be kind to each other.
Lots of love and God Bless,
Majimazexxxxx

so glad you finally have got around to writing an entry. Sometimes when all this unpleasant stuff is going on it can help a little to share it, especially writing it out. That's what I find anyway. Poor Jimmy, but it is good they now know what is wrong and it can be monitored and controlled to some degree. Take care of yourself and try not to worry ( silly thing to say, I know)....... you need to stay strong if you are to support them all remember. And I am here for you when you need support. hugs p

I fear that the girls will never be found. And I have my opinion of the type of people who would do this and the type of people who would buy them or use them in any way.
If it were my son I would listen to the doctors but would explore alternative medicines such as essential oils and herbs to see if this child's disease could be helped.
