The Bayview Bash... Or guilt about breaking my friend in Grimm - Warrior, Poet and more...

For people that don't understand SCA combat - it's based on honor. If I hit you, and you don't think it would have penetrated your armor - you can say "light" - at which point I get to hit you harder.

The DEMO this past weekend was incredible. People were cheering for me. The two guys I was fighting were getting frustrated that I was winning. They beat me around in practice quite a bit. (You know... It's PRACTICE though)

When I beat both of them, I took them down hard. Yea... Umm a little TOO hard.

The point, of course, is to kill your friends - not hurt them.

I Broke one of them.... Caught him in the hand - broke his gauntlet.

Caught him almost across the shoulder / neck. His collar bone may be broken.

And one shot to the face was just dead on. Yea, um, chipped tooth.

In my defense, he wasn't taking the other shots. But, still, you really don't like breaking your friends - they don't wanna play with you any more :-(

There's an actual Tournament this weekend - and he can't fight in it now. Makes me feel that much worse. I SUCK at tourney fighting. I excel when you put a LOT of guys against me... I'm just weird like that... lol
