Frustrating little niggles in Diary

I've had quite a frustrating day today. First thing, Jay kept me awake most of last night, starting with a very hard kick to the kneecap and followed by a whole night of tossing and turning, snoring and coughing, throwing all the blankets on top of me and taking them all off again. I was knackered this morning and I'm looking forward to an early night.

Got to work, I sorted out a birthday present for Amy. Last week I sent around a card and a collection. The card came back with about 15 signatures but not a single penny in the collection! Our boss put in £9.50 and that was all I had. What can I do with £9.50 that looks like it's from 15 people? Stingy lot. I got a bunch of flowers, bottle of wine and box of chocolates from the supermarket for about £13 so that didn't look too bad. Amy came in this morning, opened the card and said "I can't read half of these signatures." And that's it. Not even a thank you.

I had a really busy morning trying to get everything done as I had this afternoon off to get my car retested for the MOT. I organised with Roxy's owners to walk her at 1:30 today as our normal time clashed with the test. 1:30, I got there, no one in. I rang them up and they acted all confused as if they knew nothing about it! Rearranged it, I said the latest I can do is 4:15. So I went back at 4:15...no one in! I rang them up "You're at the house? OK we'll come back now." Yes I'm at the house, at the time we arranged! I stood outside for 10 minutes, walked Roxy and was cutting it VERY fine for my appointment. They were all like "ooooh, do you think you'll make it on time?" Well I would have done if you'd been here at the time we arranged!

I got stuck in rush hour traffic and got there with one minute to spare. When I told the tester that the repair man couldn't find any welding to be done, he looked annoyed and said "Well, I'll look at it anyway." So I was sitting there panicking that it was going to fail again. Thankfully, it passed! I'm glad, I already had to make three separate journeys and a round trip of an hour for each one.

We haven't received a Certass certificate for the windows we had put in three months ago. This is to show that they were installed by a competent and certified company. I contacted Certass and they said they have no record of it, which means the company that did it haven't registered it. Argh, so annoying! If we decide to sell the house, it can knock thousands off the price if we can't prove the windows were installed by a competent and certified company. So I have to sort that now.

I got home and bit my lip HARD while eating my dinner, so now it's really sore and swollen :o(

I'm on a fast day today and I'm hungry. Last week I didn't lose one single ounce so I hope I lose something this week!

I just felt like having a rant today. Nothing too major, just a list of little annoying bits!

Wow how stingy are your work mates? X

Do all your workmates just hate Amy? It sounds like she deserves their contempt if she can't even manage a thank you!

They must do! It's not as if they're short of cash, most of them drive Audis or BMWs. But yeah, her reaction (or lack thereof) made me feel like I shouldn't have bothered.

You should have sent an e mail round saying "we didn't have enough money in the collection to buy Amy anything, so if [boss' name] would like to have her donation back, it will be in the staff room. " ;)
