Googling how to prepare a wall for painting. Isn't it ironic that my father and brother are both painters by trade, and yet here I am googling?! I actually called my brother the other day to ask him about it. I left a message but he hasn't called back so too bad, google it is. I just want to paint the shower and toilet room. The walls are blue. I want white, to freshen it up and let more light in. So that's my new project. I bought paint today, now to learn how to prep the wall! Went along to the Campdraft today. Campdraft is for people learning how to ride horses. They spend a week together, practising obstacle courses and things like that. One of M's friends wanted her to go and watch her ride. Personally I found it boring. This is because I have never had any interest in horses at all whatsoever. They are big beasts, unpredictable, quite boring and you can't be too loud around them. That's all I know about horses and I don't really have the patience to get to know them very well. I've had horse-loving friends in my life (3 or 4 actually) and I just don't really get it. Yeah they're cute, but to ride one? Nuh-uh. So anyway, I watched as these kids took turns going through an obstacle course. Yay. Even M was bored, lol. Initially she didn't even want to go, but that was because she thought she'd have to ride, something she's clearly not interested in either! When we were there though, she wanted a turn, but she wasn't allowed (I suppose it's got something to do with public liability or something). It was windy as anything, as the day is. It's actually hazy outside, almost like a dust storm is around us. Anyway after that it was close enough to lunchtime so we went and bought some hot chips because we were too hungry. L has been so naughty all day and so by the time we were at the chip shop my patience was wearing thin. Bought milk for L as requested. Bought myself work boots at the hardware store as they were on special and ACTUALLY in my size!!!! You wouldn't believe how hard it has been for me to find boots that fit me, they're all too big! So anyway then I bought the paint. The girls are being narky and picky and silly to each other for the...... third day in a row. I'm quite over it and so am trying to just tune out and leave them to it. They can sort themselves out, since they're ignoring all my input anyway.
