Happy Birthday Kayla and Timmy! in In the Meadow

Timmy and Kayla turn nineteen today. They are still away at university. Because the semester started late, it ends later than it usually would. Timmy is coming home at the end of this week and Kayla gets home next week. In future college years they would be here for their birthdays (hopefully, if things continue to improve and they go back to the regular school schedule.) It may be their only chance to experience a semi-warm Boston and Hudson Valley, unless they go to a summer session.

Kayla and Timmy both managed to get internships for the summer. Kayla is working for the state parks division. The job description says it is about helping to maintain environmental quality for wildlife and providing educational services. Some of it will be at the state park and some will be at the parks regional office. Timmy will be interning at a nature center. His job will be to help maintain the environment. He is also going to be working with groups of adults and children. They got these internships through the college placement office. The internships run from early June to early August. They will also work at the day camp where they worked last year.

It is strange not having them here on their birthday. They both have plans for today. When they get back here we will go out for dinner and celebrate their birthdays a little late.
