Skater Baby in Diary

I've got a date for my roller derby newbie day, it's going to be on Sunday May the 4th; Star Wars day! They say they can lend us skates and pads for four weeks and we also have to wear a mouth guard, so I've just ordered a cheap one for now. I've already been ogling skates online, even though I have no idea what to look for. But I just like the ones with purple wheels and stoppers! I'm kind of excited, I hope I can take to it. I've been trying to find a social hobby I enjoy for my entire life, especially a sport of some kind. I was quite good at pole dancing, but I didn't get excited about going and decided it was stupid to waste money forcing myself into something I wasn't thrilled about, which is why I gave it up. So yeah, if I take to it, it will keep me fit, give me a hobby and hopefully make me some friends, which I sorely need.

Jay's off out again on Saturday with the boys. He seems to be out every weekend at the moment. I wouldn't mind so much if I had friends of my own, also I kind of enjoy having time to myself, but I'm also jealous that I'm languishing at home all the time while he's off out having fun. It's only because Matt's single at the moment. When he has a girlfriend, none of us see him for months on end; he even missed his best mate's stag party because his latest squeeze wanted to go and see Bon Jovi in London; Matt doesn't even like Bon Jovi! But when he's single, he just wants to go out on boys' nights out all the time, so he can go on the pull. I don't think he's a proper friend, if he disappears when he's single and only uses his friends as wingmen when he wants to pick up women.

Oh well, as long as Jay's having fun and doesn't mind Matt's motives.

87 working days remain.
