Ten days ago I visited my dermatologist who removed several layers of cancerous skin from my forehead/eyebrow. I returned yesterday for follow up. His assistant was excited to tell me that the doctor’s application to treat the wound with stem cells had been accepted. The “stuff” was supposed to have been delivered to them by 10:30 that morning, but it’s now 11:30 and no delivery. We decided that I should go home (only 15 minutes away) and wait for them to call.
The call came about an hour later and I hurried back over there. They waisted no time numbing me up and the surgeon quickly applied the stem cells to my face. He covered it with a water-proof bandage which I am to leave for a week.
Because of the size and depth and location of the site, he wanted to use this new process to speed the healing. It is about the size of a dime and just above and into my right eyebrow. I sure hope it works!
