This entry is mostly going to not be about me. Destiny messaged to talk while I was at work Thursday. So promised a call Friday. I had a thing or two to talk about (which will be in a separate entry from this).

She went on and on for a half hour about the last 2 weeks of Gabby misbehaving. Getting caught vaping on the first day back in physical school. Arguing about punishments (which mostly consist of taking away electronics and TV), generally being up in Destiny’s face, doing things she’s not supposed to, harassing her sister.... general absolutely annoying things. This has been her way since being comfortable with her family. She acts like the world should be about her and does her best to manipulate situations when it’s not.

Right, so about a month ago Destiny got her into a “scared straight” program a cop friend of hers is involved in. Dest said it worked for all of like 2 weeks. Now even the threat of “calling officer Davis” only works for a few minutes. It’s getting to the point that it’s becoming a mental health issue for the rest of the family.

Alyssa has now been diagnosed with depression (at 12) and has called home twice with anxiety attacks brought on by Gabby’s behavior before/at school.
Destiny herself admitted wanting to cut and crying on the shower floor till the water ran cold because of Gabby’s behavior.

Everyone is in counselling .... with the same lady. The one who had been there when Gabby was abandoned and dropped back in Destiny’s life by the “guardians”.

Apparently, Destiny learned that in the state of MI you can call the cops for an “incorrigible child” (A child is considered incorrigible when the child repeatedly or habitually disobeys the direction of the child’s lawful parents, guardians, or legal custodians. When a child refuses to accept these orders, this can cause significant problems for the child, the guardians, and the environment in which the child resides.) and last weekend she had to do just that. There is now a recording or Destiny calling 911 because her child wouldn’t stop spraying her with glitter spray. The lady on the other end listened as Destiny tried to walk away and Gabby just followed her around the house spraying her. When the cops showed Gabby screamed at them for a half hour before threatening to kill herself. After 24 hours at the local hospital they took a 2hr drive to an open bed in Grand Rapids in a mental ward. They’d found Adderall in her system (that no one in the house is prescribed). They adjusted her meds and had a family meeting yesterday.

Currently she is meant to be released Monday. Destiny is scared. Will it be worse if she comes home? Is she on the “right” meds now? because in a week they wouldn’t know. Not to mention she’s up there being on her best behavior just wanting to go home.... to torture everyone all the more?

Destiny wants to get her into a long term care facility in order to get her properly evaluated and on the right meds and such but her insurance won’t cover it. So she called me again yesterday.... after the family meeting and short talks with the doctors there. She feels that the 2 current options are that when she picks her up on Monday things are at risk of getting worse with no real help in site OR she can refuse to let her come home because of the fragile state of mental health for Alyssa and herself. This would result in Gabby going into foster care. Hopefully her new foster family would be able to get her into a long term care.... but she knows the first thing Gabby would do is contact the ex guardians and backtrack on everything they’ve worked so hard for.

Ultimately it’s long term care that matters. What’s going to keep her out of jail when she’s 18. Destiny seriously feels that she’ll be dead before then if she doesn’t get proper care.

In order to get her proper care she has to consider putting her into the foster system? I suggested she spend the weekend making phone calls looking for programs to help with the situation but honestly....

She can’t save Gabby at risk to Alyssa and herself. That’s how I feel, come at me bro.

Also, I’m not even Gabby’s mom.... guardian… possible future foster parents but i had a ton of trouble sleeping and got like 4 hours max. .... that’s if for this entry though
