The run up to Easter was a series of sunny days with rather cool winds, but the sun shining makes me feel better much more than a heat wave; it was warm enough for my to sit out on the swing bench with Ziggy! He is a not one to sit still for very long, but he sat next to me for twenty minuets, and mostly calmly unless some passing chatterbox caught his ear; but once pass the twenty minuet length there were things else that needed his attention.

The sunny cool days lasted thought Good Friday and the Saturday, it seemed different on Easter Sunday morning, early it was hazy and dry so things would be ok for the dog show at the agility class. We had planned to set of just before twelve, I had a light jacket and a jumper on when Sweetheart said ‘It’s raining’ so I lost the jacket and put on my black waterproof coat with a hood.

My walk down to the car was damping, driving through Perranporth I noticed there were space to park on the main road – on Easter Sunday morning! The trip to Newquay was slow as we hand hoarse-box and a tractor was far up in-front of us, the road has many twists and bumps and not a road you can over take on easily, the tractor turned off but the hoarse-box was going our way; I wondered if it was going to the dog show!

With this being the Dog Show the farmer had opened a field for every one to park, and there the rain was worse than at home, our Daughter set of with Ziggy while Sweetheart and I sorted Lola, I carried Lola as with the rain and the long grass she would have arrived looking like she had been in the sea, with two minuets Lola looked as if she had come out of sea! Ziggy was very good meeting dogs he knew and didn’t, he was happy and excited but not over the top, one women came over to see Ziggy; she had friends with her who she introduced to Ziggy and Lola – telling them Lola was a star!

Jo started the competition classes, best true breed dog, best mixed breed dog and the best puppy, I noticed each competition class was getting quicker, all the time we had been there the weather was getting worse; then I heard Jo with the easterly wind driving the rain past her telling us; she was re-scheduling the show to next Sunday! A good move as a few had already left to there cars.

We were happy to get out of the rain, and felt even better to arrive at home and a change into some dry clothes, I was thankful they didn’t push on regardless, as our Daughter has made a great Easter Bonnet for Ziggy, it has to be Ziggy as Lola like all our Westies do not easily take to fancy dress.

I hadn’t seen any one selling raffle tickets, but it seems there were and Jo will dive every one who bought ticket a new one; the raffle ticket book didn’t survive the weather! As you might think I didn’t take photographs, there was a photographer there with a towel over his camera; so for now we shall have crossed fingers until next Sunday!
