New Year’s Eve.
I, like many people, will take some time today to look back through 2020 and wonder. This has been such a strange long/short year. Events, days, weeks, months have merged with each other and become undistinguishable. We have been more or less isolated for 10 months. There were a few weeks in the early fall when we were allowed to go out and play cards with our small group, in between lock-downs. Other than that, it was only to visit doctors and pick up groceries and meds. We only visited our son & DIL three times in person and they came over here about that many times.
We are allowed to move around our building to get the mail and dump the trash or pick up deliveries left inside the front door. Our in-house library has been a real blessing. We are also allowed to enter other buildings on-campus to tend to business in the office for example, wearing masks and distancing.
Several people we know and love have passed on during this crazy year. Virtual funerals have somewhat helped us through these losses.
The election fiasco.
But it hasn’t been all bad. Lots of good thing have happened during this time. To name a few:
Younger grandson graduated from college. Older grandson got a big promotion at his work. Daughter survived two major surgeries and is feeling like a new woman. Granddaughter #1 made a big move and started a new life. #2 granddaughter earned EMT certification and is on call several nights a week as a first responder with her local ambulance crew. Great grandson is half way through his terrible twos! (Oh, how I wish I could see him in person!)
I got a brand new computer for Christmas! Bob and I are healthy.
What more could we ask for?
