My Uncle, the priest bought a lot at Lakeland Village many years ago. In Allyn, Washington. I have very fond memories like the time we spent the night searching for bull frogs. I was so excited that I could go with the older kids. We did catch lots of frogs that night but to my dismay, I didn't realize that the older kids were skinning the frogs "Taking their pajamas off" as we would learn to call it, I didn't know what that meant until an older cousin told me that we would be cooking up the frogs legs to eat!
Every year my family and cousins would get together for a big family picnic at Lakeland village. It was always so good to see everybody. I remember that my older sisters would take the rowboat out on to the lake heading to a place called "Lover's Cove". I wasn't allowed to go to that place, my mother said that I was to young--but maybe next year I could go.
It was always fun to sleep outside under the stars, searching for the big dipper, listening to the hundreds of bull frogs crocking, the older cousins trying to scare the shit out of us.
My Uncle is up in age now, and will be moving to an assisted living community. He has his place up for sale now....so sad.

Did you ever make it to the cove? So many good memories. Someday there will be a new family making wonderful memories like yours.
