Insanity in Book Seven: Reconstruction 2020

My county had 17 cases at the end of lockdown. Then in May, Governor COVID KIMMY decided that “the businesses couldn’t withstand anymore restrictions.” We went from 200 cases to over 550 cases in October. Because, as I’ve documented here, people are still calling it a hoax, saying it is all political, claiming the Democrats and the Fake News are using this to hurt Trump. Thousands still refusing to wear masks or social distance because “it’ll only go away after everyone catches it” or because “it doesn’t even kill that many people!”

My county is full of idiots and it isn’t just a “boo rural Iowa” issue. Because I have a friend that works in a smaller county doing the same job that I do. He’s still working from home. Has been since Lockdowns began. Because his county government has said that it isn’t a question of “should we or shouldn’t we” but only a question of “Can we?” And obviously, they can. If things are done by computer and phone; that’s all that is needed to can.

No, no. My county gets to be run by those that think like COVID Kimmy… like Joni Ernst… like Chuck Grassley… like Trump. Because even as early as Saturday, Kim was doing Trump Rallies without a mask. Because Joni Ernst’s campaign ads continue to say that COVID is a liberal takeover. Because Chuck Grassley continues to say that Trump is needed to protect the country from socialism. Meanwhile, they’ve all been making a private corrupt killing. Before Kim went into conservative politics she was a college drop out with 2 OWIs. She became Lt. Governor with that still being true. She went from Lt. Governor straight to Governor. Has reaped a lot of financial rewards. Joni is so blatantly corrupt when it comes to money that she got caught red-handed. For accepting loads of illegal campaign contributions, received the largest fine in Iowa Politics EVER. And Chuck?? Why do you think Iowa is controlled by the Insurance Companies? Chuck has taken so much money from Insurance that everyone in the country has likely paid his salary if they carry any health insurance at all.

And my county?

The Supervisor currently up for election has a rule… never pay for something if you can get the county to do it. Want to beautify your particular area? Make it a County Project. Get caught and called out for it in the paper by a County Employee? Sue the county that you’re running. When the county asks if you’d be willing to simply “take an extra year of pay” to make the whole thing go away? Demand triple that. All during an election year where you’re hoping to get re-elected.

I’m not naive enough to claim that Democrats aren’t corrupt. I’m just aware enough to point out that I’m not being represented by any democrats. My representation is (a) all GOP County Supervisors; (b) my State representatives are GOP (including Chuck’s son); (c) my State senators are GOP; (d) my Governor is GOP; (e) My Federal House of Representatives representation (until the election is over) is openly racist Steve King; (f) my Federal State Senators are Ernst and Grassley; (g) my President is openly racist DJ Trump.
So… at present? I’m not worried about the Democrats who are corrupt. Because they aren’t the ones representing me. I’m worried about the deep, painful, calloused, getting people killed corruption that has spread through the GOP and is actively harming my county.

The political world I believe in? Multiple Party Representation on all levels and a demand that America works for all Americans (or as many as possible). Because this one party vs the other party with the only goal being to gain power, money, and influence is killing us. And so many on both sides… but right now I’m exclusively looking at Trumpians because of the power hold… are supporting this.
