HA!
So… I had spoken with the judge and all the attorneys yesterday. Nobody wanted to go to the courthouse today (as early voting kicks in, additional unmasked people flood our work space, and chaos begins to reign.) So… all of court by phone today.
Add to that how when I woke up, Nala was almost literally on top of me. Like… as pressed into me whole body as she could. It was warm, it was adorable, it was the most love I’ve received from a living being this week! As I got out of bed I just decided… fuck it. Everything work related, I can do from home. Plus I get to be with my Dog instead of bad people… I get to be mostly naked instead of in a suit… and when I don’t want to do anything I can be productive with cleaning/organizing/or video games instead of just sitting in the office waiting for time to pas. So fuck it I’m working from home today!
Apparently… my boss hasn’t figured out that there IS a specific pointed significant difference between the concepts
Vacation
Sick
and Work from Home.
On the 16th, I took vacation time. Which meant that I checked my work e-mail and did work things “when I wanted to”.
On Monday, I took a sick day. Which meant that I checked my work e-mail and did work things “when I felt up to it”.
Today, I took a Work From Home Day. Which meant that my butt was glued to my chair, my computer was connected to the Work Site and I was doing my job the whole day.
This approach to the work day seemed to take my boss by surprise. As he spent the first two hours of the day e-mailing me about phone calls or things that needed to get done.
Which… is ironic because… I got my voice messages. I had listened to them. And I had returned them before he mentioned them to me. AND ironic because… as he’s checking files with deadlines of today… he’s actually preventing me from accessing those files because they can only be open on one computer at a time… so there were honestly moments where he’s e-mailing me saying, “Are you aware that this is due today?” AND I’m like, “Yes, that’s why I was working on it. Can you close the submission document because that’s the only thing I haven’t been able to access and complete yet”
It’s just funny that… pretty clearly, he’s annoyed that I’m not in the office, lol. But at the same time… dude? The only difference between being in the office and being at home as far as productivity? At home, it is harder to make me deal with the batshit crazy poorly screened phone calls. That’s it. Which may be an annoyance out of envy or out of ‘professional decorum.” That we need to be present for the poorly screened batshit phone calls.
