Scheming... :-) in All Of The Above

Summer is almost here and I've been thinking about field trips for the kids - the kids in this part of the San Luis Valley.

I don't know the specific home situations of the students (I have trouble saying 'kids' - my upbringing, I guess!), but I suspect there are single-parent families,, foster children, special needs, etc.

How many students have never been out of the Valley, and what are their prospects of ever doing so? Hence, the 'scheming' about a three-day trip to Denver.

There's a lot to do in the Mile High City - museums, entertainment, and lots more, but the hurdles are: narrowing down specific activities, where to stay, funding, chaperones, and more. However it's only mid-April, and if we plan the trip for August, there's plenty time to get things lined up.

(The Denver Broncos have a home game in August against the Houston Texans, and with all the Broncos fans we have, hmmm..... :-) )
