I only walk a dog when it me on the other end, other wise there is a problem with differentiation in walking speed, I’m told I haven’t any speed; knowing when they are right I take a camera for a shuffle!
Really I need to visit some new areas, but there are these near by places where we like to walk Lola and Ziggy, also the cliffs are a little short of colour yet, I did manage to get some yellow gorse in the image looking west from the Wheal Coats Mine site; I’ve lost count of how many times I have photographed these mine buildings – and in all sorts of weather.
After all those many weeks of rain and storm, it was quite noticeable to see the change’s underfoot; these areas of mud are drying now ….
In my search for a new, or at best a different angle on these often photographed buildings, I did have to pick up my feet as I walked these uneven paths; being careful not to fall on my camera! I even swapped my standard 24 – 85mm zoom lens for a 70 – 200mm lens, the longer lens foreshorten the look of the image.
These images were taken on Friday morning, a good sunny day but didn’t look as warm as it seems; the Atlantic has look so blue recently but a jacket and jumper are necessarily. When this area was a working mine there were many more buildings along the cliff tops, mostly reduced to odd stacks of bricks.
As I was thinking of returning to the car, Lola came sniffing her way; no time for me as there were so many smells to sniff. It is I suppose it is good, not having a notable odder ….
Note. Many years ago I recall stocktaking when I was working on the Photographic Counter at Woolworths in Shrewsbury. I had the aid of the Staff Manager, it turned out she was counting wide angel lenses while I was counting wide angle lenses, by chance I got it right – I hope …..
