Stuff and Things in Diary

I've had a busy time since I got home from work last night. Dog walked, birds cleaned out, windows washed, house vacuumed, washing up x2, laundry x3, car vacuumed and washed, new headlight bought and installed, front yard cleared of rubbish. Phew! I swear it's the nice weather, it seems to give me energy and inspiration to do lots of useful stuff. In winter, I just curl up in the house and don't move. This is why I prefer it when the sun comes out!

We have a pair of robins in our garden; the only time of year when you'll see more than one robin at once. They come into the garden to bathe and eat together, one feeding the other. I hope they have chicks then we can watch them feeding the fledglings. We have an old cat food bowl in the garden that I fill with water for the birds and it's fun watching them having baths in it. We also have loads of frogs in the pond again so I keep looking for frogspawn! Lots of life springing up with the animals and plants :o)
Jay went out with his friends last night and apparently took his mam's house key instead of ours so he was locked out. There I was, fast asleep in bed at 1:15am when the doorbell suddenly rings extremely loudly. We have an actual old fashioned bell so the harder you pull on it, the louder it rings. I almost had a heart attack, you don't expect that sort of thing when you're tucked up in bed in the middle of the night. And the noise of the bell sounds like something from a horror film anyway, lol. My heart was beating 10 to the dozen and it took me about 90 minutes to get back to sleep because of the adrenalin. Jay fell asleep on the sofa like he always does and came crashing into bed at 5:20am. Again waking me up and taking me about an hour to get back to sleep again while he snored his head off. Drunk people are annoying, especially when I'm sober!
I emailed our local roller derby team about having a go and they say they're having a newbie session sometime in the next month, I can't wait to give it a go! I've never been on regular skates before, but I'm ok on blades and not bad on ice skates so I do have a good sense of balance and stamina. It looks like fun and might even help me to make some of my own friends! I'd have to think of a fierce name for myself; they're all called things like Angelina Rollie, Maggie Mayhem or Babe Ruthless. But I'll have a go and make sure I like it first ;o)
