B applied for his first job today. We went in to hobby lobby last week and they had a now hiring for seasonal and part time workers. Stockers ect. So i grabbed an app. They only have paper applications! Anyway B is a hobby kinda kid. He loves building models and working with tiny things like that. Maybe more to the electronics and race cars but also stem and decorative cars ect. He built the Titanic for L for his 9th birthday. L is obesssed with the titanic he knows all sorts of random facts about it haha. Anyway. He had a moment in the car. We had him get dressed in a nice shirt and brush his hair back nicely. Its fairly long. And then he was worried, hes never dropped off an app. So i gave him a basic walk through. Ask someone at the front who he should drop off an application for, Tell them your name, your age and you just moved here from Alaska and look forward to hearing from them.
He was stressing big time poor kid. I told him the first time is the hardest, then it gets easier. He just wants something part time for a few hours, make some pocket change. I liked hobby lobby because well a discount but also because its an easier job. They are slower there, and have some great benefits. I know not everyone likes them, and thats fine too. But they do have some great benefits for a craft store. Its about 7 miles away which sometimes feels like its a long way haha. Its not really. Seeing ill be the one driving him most of the time. I told him he needs to save half his paychecks so he can buy a car and have a savings account. The other half for his cell phone and later his car insurance and gas and whatever else he wants. Its the time to start him learning! lol. I wouldent mind if it was closer. But really its not too far. ( and the employee discount if they have one would be neat for me and for his hobbies lol)
So yeah. Its hard and bittersweet when your oldest is hitting milestones. We need to get him in to get his license. He dosent have it yet because of the different requirements here and covid. Im unsure if he needs to take these classes they ask them to take seeing hes already had a permit for 2 years from another state. But it expired in July. If so he needs to wait another 2 months to get his license as they want them to be 16.5 and not 16. Hes 16 and 4 months lol. He dosent want to work at fast food and i dont blame him there. I did and its crazy work. But a craft store will probably be calmer. At least the ones here are always calmer lol!
Ok i gotta go, I promised to knit a cowl for a friend :)
Oh finished another pocket scarf, Just have to add fringe. And then got 3 balls of yarn to make one for me! Im keeping that one.
So ive got blankets for 3 kids to make, a pocket scarf, 2 cowls and my paintings, which BTW, i did another one :)
