It was lovely earlier but now it is overcast and the sky is full of glare. The neighborhood is full of marvelous tulips. I shall have to take my camera with me next time I go walking. This is the tree I can see from where I am sitting.

I need to get ready to go up and teach my caregiver class in a half hour or so but I thought to stop in and say hello.

Sammy went to the vet yesterday. He got some robust hissing in and was pretty stressed out but his labs are really good for guy with a heart murmur and chronic and profound kidney disease. He is amazing. But I knew that. He has no plans to leave this world anytime soon and as his caregiver it is good for me to know that.

Okay then, if I do start dating again, the fellow will need to not be allergic to cats.

My oldest sister is happy to be home from the hospital but what she is experiencing is not easy. They are looking at surgery in just about a month and everything is geared towards getting her strong enough to make it through that. Kes is going up week after next again and then we are both going up a few days before her surgery.

My sister has this intravenous total nutrition, which is a miracle and also a hassle. It is a big heavy bag when they start it in the evening and by morning it is a little less than half full but when she has to get up, and she does, the bag has to come with her. It is in this backpack thing. It seriously limits her actual mobility and her desire to be mobile and I did ask the obvious question, why couldn’t they put it on a pole with wheels. There is a reason.

Having Sammy need daily care and teaching classes (not to mention a very busy job) limits my mobility in terms of being able to be away. I am doing what I can from afar. I am so glad both Kes and my older sister were able to retire when they did! My oldest sister was the age I am now when she retired. That was very smart. She had a good ten years before this horrid illness overtook her. And fingers crossed she will have some good time when she recovers.

Okay that is it. I shall forage for tulip shots for future posts. Stand by.
