Mundanity in 2020

My work schedule has changed. Instead of working two full days and two half days, I’m going to work three full days for the forseeable future - Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10-6. I’m kind of sad not to be working Saturdays, as I really enjoy the vibe when none of the supervisors are there on the weekend, but my coworker is starting college classes and wants to work Fri-Sat-Sun at least for this semester.
So today is the first of four days off in a row! Whatever will I do with myself? Very little, I hope. I did laundry today, and grocery shopping, and cleaned a little. I also finished a book (Unfollow Me by Charlotte Duckworth, kind of a chick-lit-suspense-novel that I enjoyed) and finally watched the first episode of Lovecraft Country. As I’d hoped, HBO has done a great job with it, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.
Tomorrow I need to get caught up on dog maintenance, weather permitting. They all need baths and nail trims, so I really hope it doesn’t rain! There was a crazy storm last night, so the house is full of mud right now. I’m going to have the kids mop when they’re done with school today.
Speaking of the kids, online school is still sorting out technical issues, which is to be expected during the first week of an entirely new program. Overall they are enjoying it though, so that’s good. From a parent perspective, it’s not as easy to navigate as the actual online school we did a few years ago, so I can’t keep up with their specific assignments like I could there - but I have to trust that they’re getting the work done, because they know I will bust their butts otherwise ;)
Life is a bit dull, but I’m one hundred percent okay with that right now.

Dull isn’t always bad! I’ve had some very good dull days.
