So farewell David Letterman and Sir Bruce Forsyth - two stalwarts of tv broadcasting from the old days. Can anyone beat Letterman in the art of talk show presenting - and it is amazing that at 86 Brucie has not only survived, but teken on new challenges in every decade. In fact Brucie is not giving up - just the live shows which he now finds too much of a strain - not least because he cannot read the auto cue properly and there are no retakes. Both have a sharp wit - not many left like that now alt text

I watched Letterman regularly for awhile... always enjoyed the shows but usually on too late for me :)

I think it's kind of sad to see changes like this. I know eventually, there will be no choice but someone else take over "Late Show" or any other show with a loyal host. But it's sad nonetheless.

I thought Letterman had gone already and Craig Ferguson had taken over - was that just while he was in disgrace?
