He has diabetes.
Not even kinda sorta pre diabetic. Full on diabetes. He’s got a script for pills and blood tester strips.
He’s so down.
And im kinda proud of myself. I really talked him through.
I told him, he’s a meat guy. He doesn’t even need bread and pasta. He knows what’s bad for him. He can make the change. And by this time next year he’ll be a completely different person and probably off the pills and the sleep apnea machine. He’s gonna be ok. And I’ll do it with him. We can go low carb together!
He’s hit his rock bottom. He promises to change his eating.
Having diabetes sucks. But now he FINALLY will stop bringing in sugar. He can’t be denied for the surgery now with that risk. He’ll eat healthier with me. We’ll all benefit.
Plus, since my genius mind already got us on the surgery track, we’re not starting from scratch. We have a plan to get healthier! We have a goal!
Diabetes is not Gonna be his ruin. And i am not gonna at all temp him or fuck this up for him.
It’s almost better this way.
If they didn’t confirm the diabetes he never would have changed.
Even with the surgery looming he didn’t really want to change until the day after surgery. Now he’s forced to get healthier Right Now. Which is better.
