More fires. in A small but passable life.

The swimming pool is open once again. It was closed for three months. Now I can get back to my routine. Back to filling in that couple of hours between the end of the last cup of coffee and then lunch followed by NPR and a nap starting at one o’clock with some swimming and pool walking and then a nice shower.

Huge plumes of smoke north of us yesterday. They closed three highways- 87, 88, and 188. I’ve seen each of those roads closed at times in the past, for fire, mudslides and rockfall but never all three at the same time for any reason. I believe the 35mph wind gusts, 12% humidity and 109 temperature weren’t helping things at all. At last count there were 4 or 5 named fires in the state.

So yeah, tick tock, tick tock.
