I'm still here. We have 3 more days of school before the TESTING hits. :( :( :( They're as ready as they're going to be. It's the best I've felt in a while for testing. I still don’t like that they have to test, and I really don’t like the state’s take on the science and social studies part of the test, but I know my kids are ready. I rearranged everything this year and I’ve actually gotten to it all in time for testing. That’s a 1st!

We had a terrible storm system come through this weekend. The first round was Thursday night. I had hail. I had never really had hail in this house before. It was incredibly loud on this tin roof. When I opened the door you could see marble sized pieces of ice hitting the ground. I worried about my car, but it was fine. (Once the hail was over, I went out with an umbrella to make sure I didn’t have any broken glass!) The 2nd round of storms hit Friday night. I got off easy that time. Friendly J has some serious damage. She has several holes through to her attic. At least 13 rafters are shattered, her roof shifted, her carport was almost crushed. They are fine, though, they stayed with neighbors the rest of the night and are with her dad until they can get it repaired. (Insurance has deemed it unlivable.) Now she has the headache of dealing with insurance, contractors, etc. She’s so grateful, though, it easily could have gone differently. It’s unconfirmed, but the local weather man is saying that a tornado came through, but never touched down. It looks like it. There are trees literally twisted in two.

This weekend is the 3 day women in the outdoors event that I help with every year. I took Friday off to work it. I never take personal days, but I did this time. There’s nothing I can tell them Friday that will make one iota difference on that test. So I will be there all 3 days. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s always a lot of work, but a lot of fun. This is when the whole gang manages to get together. One of my best friends is the one who runs it, so she doesn’t get to visit often with us, but the other 4 of us are together, so that’s always great. There’s always amazing crawfish and other food. One of my friends and I teach the outdoor photography (well, she teaches it, I’m just moral support.) The 4 of us are teaching a class on using game cameras. That’s why I’ve had one set up in my backyard, just to see what I can see.  I’m the nonhunter using it, showing other ways to use it. There’s a chance of rain every single day – I hope it holds off. We go outside for both classes.

Ok, that’s the highlights, what few there are. I need to catch up on y’all. I’ve skimmed a few, but it’s been a rough few days. I’m ready to get back into my routine. I miss y’all!!!!
