A Plethora of News. in Majimaze Musing!

           Hi there folks,
                                  I do hope you are all well and hapy.Sometimes in life,there is such a thing as a news 'overload.'

Just so much to take in and try to digest and comment on.And that is how I feel right now.

 Where does one start?

  I think the dissappearance of flight MH370 is the obvious and most ongoing and dreadful item.How does a plane just dissappear?I ,for one,don't have an answer.And neither has anyone else.There are endless possibilities and our planet is full of places and vast oceans.To my mind,the biggest dificulty is the mindset and emotional health of the relatives.How does one manage the despair and hope and anger of these poor souls?How do they start grieving,as day by day the agony persists?

So sad and hope is all they have.Hope that their loved ones are still alive,hope that they will find some debris to prove they are dead.

I am reminded of all these factors by the fruitless ,so far,searches of the huge and boundless Indian Ocean.And the countless disused airfields scattered all over the jungles of the world,following world wars and different developments now achieved ,leaving these possibilities open.

                          Just as an example,when I was first married ,in 1963, my late husband was in the regular army here in the Construction side the Royal New Zealand Engineers.They went to Thailand to build an airfield in the jungle on the border with Burma (Myanmar) for 3 terms ,of 4months and then 1 year.The airfield is at Long Nok Thar.It had to have the capacity for US fighter jets to refuel from Vietnam during the War there.It also had to be able to take Orions,bombers and these are very big aircraft.I have checked the website for veterans of rhese construction engineers.There were british Engineers,Australian engineers and some US engineers as well as a contingent from NZ.Some of the vets, from here have been over to see the airfield and say it is in working condition.This place took my brand new hubby away for all those periods,so it was  and is,always in my mind.

                         Just an example.However,why would that happen?Terrorism?Why no claim from possible perpetrators?

More likely is a catastrophic event, such as fire or sudden decompression.That,however, does not explain the change of course and turning off of all those essential instruments.Flight data etc.

                                  So, we wait.The world waits, and the deeply hurt and desperate relatives wait.

                So sad, and so bewildering.My prayers and thoughts are with them all.

                                         Another event occupying  some of my thoughts is Russia's takeover of the Crimea.And this is probably not what you expect. I have no arguement against Russia claiming it back.Certainly I disapprove of Putins methods, and who could approve?However, it was pretty inevitable.95% of the Crimean population wanted the return to Russia,and Russia Has its Black Sea Naval Base there.I can't imagine why the Nato countries raised such a protest.

                                 The Ukraine is another matter altogether.However, the risk of starting another East/West major conflict is so high,I would always advise caution.Russia is too big, too powerful and very self sufficient and would and will shrug off sanctions and vetoes and banning from international organisations.Also,she has a divided population,50/50 Russian/Ukrainian.What is the matter with just leaving it to what it  is?An internal conflict?

The Nato countries,especially the US can ill-afford to even contemplate another conflict!I say, let the Russian and Ukranian people decide.Not our business.

                      The United Nations report on climate change.As you have probably gathered from some of my OD entries,I am a bit of a skeptic on the climate change debate.And this report does nothing to makeme change my mind.It is hysterical and doom and gloom laden,and what's more,is DELIBERATELY so!I find it quite ridiculous to be expected to believe all the possibilities and guilt  thrown up on by this latest report.It is based on 'computer modelling' and designed to cause world wide panic  and despair.

                         I also think it is very cruel to make such predictions as far forward as the next century and present these predictions as 'fact'.

Lets face it,yes, there have been and always will be climate changes.That is certain.The rest is hypothetical.Theory based on modelling.I expect and welcome arguements to the contrary.However, I have no expectation of a mind change myself.Heavens,I'd have to find the secret of everlasting life to be able to find proof.Enough said.

                         Home stuff.I am currently on a essential and quite radical and rigorous budget.I even have a budget advisor.Ugh!I cannot afford anything except the basics.Some of the trimming hurts.I have cancelled my daily newspaper.Ouch!!Yes,yes, I know I can read online and yes, I do, however, there is the tactile feel of my paper,the opinions, the ability to go back and forth and digest.I'm an oldie for heavens sake!I love the newspaper!Oh well, I keeptelling myself,nothing is forever!!

My underwear needs serious attention!!This is concerning!I just hope I don't have an accident and people actually SEE the weary well washed garments>My embarassment would be total!I am ekeing out my cosmetics.I LOVE abit of make-up and don't use much nowadays,however, I feel a bit undressed without it.Just need a l--ee--tle bit!!And treats are non-existent!I make some!I HAD to get some moisturieser the other day.Without it,I dry right out!Sigh!!I must learn to 'Love what I HAVE!'

                                And yes,we have an avation mystery here in NZ.We seem to have lost a small plane and its pilot.He has gone down somewhere and a 10 days later,no wreckage,nothing.Very disturbing.I am not joking.It has slipped off the news just latel  I will keep you posted.He was on a flight over this area, and I find it so concerning.

                            Also the coroners report on the enquiry into the search and rescue effort after the Christchurch earthquake is out.I won't go into the articulars,however, the coroner found the rescuers did their best and altho some think they could have saved more lives, the report said it was an unprecedented disaster and all did their best.Improvements are being made after the event exposed some short-comings.

That is all they could do and that is just how it was.Very tragic and very sad.Let it be.
