sketch of rosa (honey slides) in poetry

she made a
tea ceremony
of adding honey to her chai

lifting it up
by the quarter-spoon then drizzling it down
like spider-webs
like summer rains
like the graces of the gods themselves
falling down to the earth
in rapt attention
as if
it was the only real thing
in the whole wide world
and hell
maybe at that moment
it was

because she was beautiful and young
and she had time to appreciate
when you're beautiful and young
you can wait
you have time
to watch the honey slide

then lick the spoon
and watch it slide again
