flashes in the bathroom in Everything

Ugh, I’ve been having a tough time recently, there have been some changes at work and well my job has changed, at least in my opinion not for the better. Enough to dust off the resume and consider going elsewhere. The only problem is that I don’t really have any marketable skills. Add to that an overwhelming sense of utter and unending hopelessness and I’m not feeling all that wonderful lately. That’s why I haven’t felt much like writing, or doing anything for that matter.

So I’ve been pilfering the supply closet at work. At first it was just the usual stuff, post it notes, pens, envelopes, aspirin/Band-Aids, the usual stuff. Binder clips were the most useful. They work great to seal up bags of chips or cereal or if you looking for a quick little thrill just clap one on your nip. Yesterday on my way out the door, I took a table lamp. In the lobby there is a couple chairs and a couch complete with end tables and a lamp on each end table. I didn’t need the lamp, just had this urge to take it. So I just knelt down, unplugged it from the wall and walked out to my car with it. The receptionist wasn’t around and no one else seemed to really notice, I just grabbed it and walked. It’s a nice lamp but I don’t really have any place to put it in my apartment. I have a couple of end tables but I have matching lamps on them. I’m a little curious to see if anyone says anything to me about it. Although at that point I don’t know what I would say. How do you defend stealing a table lamp?

A little while ago my Android phone got an upgrade. Since then whenever I get a text or email the flash goes off. It’s like another way of alerting you that you got a message. At work, after my second cup of coffee I usually head off to the bathroom and I take my phone because I know I’m going to be there for a few minutes. I can read peoples diaries or play minion rush or whatever. When you are in a bathroom stall and there is someone in the next stall and your flash goes off it’s a bit awkward. You know that they notice, the bathroom lighting, although adequate, it’s pretty noticeable when a flash goes off. I know I’d feel a little weird if I thought the guy in the next stall was taking pictures. Gotta turn that setting off.
