We had two showings last week. The first one totally ghosted my realtor after. Oh well no big loss. The second one was Friday. They wanted a 7 pm showing, it was already 5:30. So I said sure and my oldest and I set to work cleaning. I wasn’t stressing about it, it was whatever. I don’t think we did that great of a cleaning job but oh well. We loaded up the dog kennel and then the dogs. My daughter sat in back with them, my oldest dog sat in the passenger seat. They all did pretty well this time. We got the call that they had just left and were preparing an offer. I was shocked and excited. We went through the dance of offer/counteroffer on Saturday. Ending it with an accepted offer. Finally. But now the real work begins. They are handy so said we didn’t need to do anything. Part of it is she is allergic to cats so they will have to do a deep clean once they move in. It’s not a done deal yet. They have to be park approved first. Then everything else that follows.
I called to let my friend know on Sunday. She sounded a little put off by it all. But then a little while later, after talking to her husband, she called me back and she seemed ok. I had said the next step, in my head, was to clear space for us to stay in but the decided the next step should be to get the house looked at. I said ok, I’ll see if my uncle can help. He said he could. So thats good. Still need to clear a place for us to stay. I’m going to my friend’s house on Wednesday. She and I will talk and figure out what we can. I told her not to rush and stress about things with us. I mean things can fall through. It scares me to put in a 30 day notice because things can fall through. But I guess I need to be more positive. The inspector comes out Friday to look at this house. Were not hiding anything that I know of.
My husband though… he’s annoying me. He thinks he knows, and I don’t think he really does. Oh well inspection things aren’t done deals as long as we know and plan to fix them. Hello the house we want to buy has to pass FHA inspection and I doubt those things are dependent on if we plan to fix them after purchase. Oh and inspections only take like 20 minutes and it’s just a visual check. No real testing, etc. And you can be there when they are inspecting. Umm the realtor said no, you can’t be here and it will take a couple hours. I don’t even truly trust my husband’s repairs or work. But whatever. I gotta love him. He tries, right?
So the kids’ last day of school is supposed to be June 9th, closing on the house is supposed to be the 10th. So just over a month and so many things have to happen between now and then. I need to not stress. I can’t wait until it’s all over, including all this virus stuff. I’m done with it.
I guess I should go draft my 30 day notice. I never did one the last time I moved out of a house. I just left.
