Ive got someone after me to start an actual blog about my yarn and wool working because she says i have a fun way of talking and engaging that makes people relate to me. I suppose i can be when the mood strikes. The issue i run into is actually my health and energy levels. I can go for weeks or a month or longer with no progress because im so drained. So when i do do things, i mean yeah its fun or enjoyable. But the rest of the time im pretty tired and drained and i dont seem to get anything done.
I miss being healthy and life before my thyroid issues. I remember thinking its going to happen anyway how different can it be. After coping with a lifetime of emotional crap too. Its different, Its bodily different. Its like your mind is 20 and wants to do so much, But your body is 80 and just getting to the bathroom is so hard sometimes.
I started by making a couple little videos of me working on some silk for spinning. Yeah im sure my face is hilarious lol. As i detangle the epic amount of silken spider webs and go how the eff can i spin this crap! Then realize im doing it all wrong and had a short mahbad video to follow lol. I hate my fat face being in the photos and im like HELLO BOOBS OMG half the time. Its not like i have a stand for my phone. I just used my cactus pot to hold my phone lol. Good nuff for now.
I did buy 2 lbs of wool the other week. Today i put 8 oz of it in two dye containers. All i have is food coloring! So i used food coloring, vinegar and some take and toss tin containers. I just need a few hundred dollars to get the stuff i need to get set back up! But i know its not going to happen. So i dyed some of my new silk and some of the merino with food coloring. Its out in the sun wrapped in plastic wrap to “bake” Its not always as color fast as other dyes or professional acid dyes but its all i have right.... I bought some colored roving other people dyed to work on it. But its just… not quite as fun as dyeing my own either. Not to mention more expensive. I spent 30 a lb for roving and if you spend 20 on a 4 oz colored roving, Its expensive! Especially seeing im not selling anything right now. I havent posted anything for sale so no it wont sell lol. I guess im feeling exhausted right now because i dont even want to work on it.... Maybe its the heat…
Im nearly finished with the husbands blanket. Im adding a few extra rows so that its bigger for my 6 ft 3 tall husband lol. Im going to add an extra ball of yarn to make it bigger lol. Its about 4.5 feet squared… Its going to take a lot of work to make it bigger… Its already 5 balls in. Thats 3K yards so far! I only have one ball. Its also a test pattern so i dont want to make it TOO much bigger on the sides or they will notice. Before i do the official photos for the pattern. Im actually going to do the cover photos for the pattern this time. She asked me based on my pattern photos for previous tests. Im honored to be asked. The pattern is called cowboy and its in honor of her late brother in law. Im debating of seeing if one of the farms i know will let me do some photos there with the blanket, a cowboy hat and one of their horses in the background. Or with my daughter up in the mountains. The first fits the theme of the name and the meaning. But the second is easier and maintains the whole social distancing thing. So choices choices. I gotta finish and shoot the photos really soon. Once testing is done shes going to publish. Whats cool is she donates all money earned to cancer centers. So i like that i can help do my part in this. A tiny part. But if my photos help sell it, then i want to help!
ok must go do something, its almost 5. and i guess we are having crappy frozen Chinese takeout for dinner. You can buy it at walmart and the kids love it. Nasty crap… Sigh, No idea what im going to eat. :/
